I like to design beautiful thoughtful gardens that take in the context of the site and the local environment. I always aim to use sustainable materials and workto enhance the local biodiversity. I like to work with clients to make their garden dreams come true in a friendly and professional way to make the whole process an enjoyable journey.
My base is in Wokingham, Berkshire but I have clients as far afield as Tewkesbury and enjoy undertaking work in new areas.
Biography:
I worked in the food industry in account management across many sectors before taking a career break. After this I started to realise my dream of working in horticulture by working for a gardener locally and undertaking my RHS Level 2 qualifications. I set up a small business and spent 6 years working independently as a gardener that lead to being a team of 4 gardeners caring for gardens across Berkshire. It gave me practical hands on knowledge and experience to understand how a garden grows and matures and how to take care of a garden to keep it flourishing year in, year out. I got to observe and learn from working in many beautiful gardens. Many times I was asked to do planting designs for clients and it was from the enjoyment of doing this that I eventually decided to follow a secretly long held dream of working in design- which lead me to undertaking the garden diploma at London College of Garden Design.

Clients dream is to have a contemporary country garden which combines their joy of entertaining with their love of nature and gardening and key to this is feel immersed in the Wiltshire countryside. Set on a small hill side currently the garden is mainly set to lawn. The design is contoured to make the most of the hillside and its view, close to the house is a generous planting zone – this is a gravel garden loosely representative of a patchwork of Wiltshire countryside with small streams, stone walls and wild flowers. There is also a meadow, swimming ponds, vegetable garden and an orchard as well as open lawn. Paths wind through the garden to allow it to be fully enjoyed.
A small country garden which is mainly set to lawn, with a slightly unusually shaped plot that ends with a small woodland . The clients would like to make the most of the views around them and enhance what they have already and have a project they can put in place over time. Included in this is increasing their drive size whilst also making the most of this sunniest side of the garden.
