The developers required a shared courtyard garden with a mix of private and shared spaces for 2 live/work units.
My proposed design takes inspiration from various qualities and patterns found in nature.
The clients required an interesting multi functional outdoor space that could be used for a variety of purposes; weddings, conferences, art shows etc.
My proposed design was inspired by the unique architectural aesthetic of venue and the formal but informal ‘organise it yourself’ tree covered spaces of the Jardin du Luxembourg and Jardin des Tuileries in Paris.
Inspired by the the clients love for architecture and woodland; my proposal for this garden is to give the local landscape an opportunity to recolonise its former territory – to explore the balance and power-play between architecture and woodland – how both might be able to dramatically but respectfully work and blend with one another.
he proposal sets out a series of contemporary, atmospheric and private woodland themed spaces and views in which to contemplate, gather and celebrate.
