Biography:
Elle has been designing gardens since 2018 after retraining with the British Academy of Garden Design and, more recently, the London College of Garden Design. At London College she has studied on both the Garden Design Diploma and the Construction Design Certificate.
Prior to her career in Garden design, she worked in Finance before she decided to pursue a more rewarding and creative path. Elle has expanded her portfolio and regularly takes on both private work and projects for other design studios.
As you enter the garden, it is hard to escape the magic and beauty of the woodland that bordered it. Elle wanted to celebrate this natural habitat and expand the scheme by creating a dreamy space that is rooted in nature and one the family can nurture and cherish for years to come.
With health and well-being being a key priority for the family, room to grow their own produce was key. This garden is full of opportunities to collect herbs, fruits, flowers and other edibles. From the wild garlic in the dappled shade of the woodland, berries from the hedgerow, apples from the meadow orchard to the herbs, vegetables and flowers in the wild potager – the culinary opportunities are endless.
The garden is also the perfect place to unwind and make amazing memories with friends and family. Well thought out multi functional social spaces connect the home and garden in an effortless way.
Finally, with several key habitats created in the garden, biodiversity will be sure to flourish with something for everyone.
Elle wanted to create a sense of space in this garden for her discerning clients. Being an Architect and Interior designer, the views of the garden from the newly-extended house were important.
A series of offset feature walls rended in a contemporary micro cement and texture limestone draw the eye and create strong vistas and well defined zoned areas in the garden whilst the generous steps create drama and add a sense of luxury to the scheme.
Every detail in this garden has been considered to ensure exceptional level of finish throughout.
