Joep Luitjes
Joep has a great passion for plants. From an early age, he spent a lot of time in nature and helped in his parents garden. Whenever possible, he visits gardens, parks, nature and nurseries at home and abroad.
He is convinced that the base for a good planting plan is an extensive knowledge of plants. That’s why he continues to learn every day by not only standing behind the drawing board, but also planting his own projects and visiting regularly to monitor development.
The diversity in natural landscapes and plant communities are his biggest source of inspiration. His work is therefore characterised by the naturalistic feel of his projects, where the experience of the different seasons plays a major role.
Biography:
Joep graduated with distinction in Planting Design from the LCGD in 2023, his graduation project was voted best by external judge Amanda Patton.
For 20 years, he has been running his own garden design studio – Terra Forma. Apart from designing gardens for private clients, he creates planting designs for (semi-)public spaces. His many years of experience and extensive knowledge of plants are used to create sustainable and low-maintenance plantings.
In 1998, he obtained his degree in Garden and Landscape Design, after which he worked as a designer at a landscape architecture firm, but also gained a lot of practical experience at various landscaping companies.
