An update to a traditional family garden to create spaces for entertaining including dining and lounging terraces with a sociable fire table focal point, outdoor kitchen and covered deck with bioclimatic pergola. Naturalistic planting brings seasonal interest right up to the house, whilst hard materials complement the recently updated facade of the house, a contemporary feel to the spaces.
The front garden was tranformed from a bleak open space to a welcoming entrance garden, with new driveway gates and contemporary parterre. The rear garden now features a sunken seating area surrounded by seasonal planting, pleached trees and yew hedging for screening and privacy, a small kitchen garden and orchard.
A large sloping garden required significantly updating to incorporate a large entertaining space with retractable pergola, fire table, outdoor kitchen and bar. A raised formal pond with fountain and aquatic plants leads the eye up the sloping lawn, past swathes of naturalistic planting, up to the summerhouse, treehouse and upper garden pergola, draped in wisteria and jasmine.
