Graduate success

We are committed to supporting our graduates through their careers and many come back time and again to update their skills on our free graduate training days. Our reputation in design training also means that we are often able to offer opportunities exclusively to our graduates. Recently these have included opportunities to design gardens for international garden shows, and for permanent landscapes such as a park on the South Bank in central London and therapeutic gardens for schools and hospitals.

Our graduates have won the majority of Student of the Year Awards from the Society of Garden Designers, the UK’s professional body for Garden Design, that’s more than all other garden colleges put together. Graduate Chris Reynolds has also been named RHS Career Changer of The Year and others have won the premier student award in the USA; achieved success with BALI and APL and at garden shows including the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the Singapore Garden Show and Best in Show at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

But to achieve success you don’t have to win awards. As well as design skills we believe knowledge of construction techniques and sound professional practice are just as important and whichever course you choose we aim to cover these skills as much as design excellence. Take a look at the film below where one of our graduates talks about his garden design career after qualifying with us.

All our students and graduates are able to have a page on our website to promote their projects, skills and services. We find that many people people are interested in appointing a new designer to their projects and so these pages are an invaluable support to an early career in garden design.

The London College of Garden Design is renowned for equipping students with all the tools required to launch a successful garden design career.
