Fresh approach
We take a fresh approach to our garden design courses, making sure that you get carefully targeted professional skills. As well as core design and plant skills we provide intensive business and construction teaching led by practising professionals so that students can launch successful businesses as soon as they graduate.

Our one year Garden Design Diploma programme is the first garden design course aimed at providing a master class every day for its students and our six-month Planting Design Diploma which is aimed at people who already have some experience in the professions of Garden Design, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture is unique to LCGD.
London College of Garden Design, Kew Gardens
Sustainable landscape design that takes account of the changing world that we live in is an important part of our training. The ability to develop design techniques that work with climate change, environmental initiatives and wildlife are as important as creating visually pleasing designs.
The Garden Design Diploma is led by Andrew Wilson and James Aldridge, widely acknowledged as one of the UK’s leading garden design lecturers, who has been at the forefront of garden design teaching in the UK and overseas, for over 30 years. Our Planting Design Diploma is led by Nina Baxter, a renowned plantswoman, horticulturist and RHS Show Judge, with a long career in garden design.
